REPETITION POSTER SWE ENG 02 3stLAURELS.jpg

Repetition (2022)
Drama/comedy
17 min

The idea behind REPETITION emerged after I'd auditioned for a role in a big feature film. In a long process of selftapes and callbacks the final decision was "NO". And while looking back on the selftapes with my scene partner, I realized how many brilliant moments of real drama could be found in between the camera is rolling, REC to STOP.

So, with REPETITION I wanted to explore the struggle and passion committed actors go through. At the same time, tell a true story of how challenging, vulnerable and joyous the life of an actor can be.

The intention was to have characters (who are played by actors) in a movie-like world. In this world there are perfect misty mornings bathing in sunlight and characters talk to mirrors, and of course alarm clocks are ignored.

But then, when the same characters rehearse a scene together – real life drama and subtext are introduced.

The film is a heartwarming celebration to all artists who live in a daily life of repetition, trying and failing but doing what they love and never giving up on their dreams.

The Mannequin (2023)
Horror/comedy
13 min

During a few gloomy autumn days in a small apartment, we follow the life of a careless seamstress. She eats, lives, and works in the same place, in front of her sewing machine.

She spends her days cutting type, pinning, measuring, and sewing clothes. She lives in chaos and abundance with clothes, dishes and waterlogged potted plants. The sewing machine clatters all day long, but she doesn't put in the time and care to measure out correctly. She rips the fabric from the machine and throws the scraps into a pile, which has been given its own place in the room.
Unconcerned, she starts again but it goes wrong and the process repeats itself and the piece of fabric is thrown away. She gets an idea to make a mannequin for the clothes by using herself as a model. She tapes and wraps one body part at a time and with each hour that passes she makes a little bit more of the doll and watches it form into a close copy of herself.

Night comes and when the seamstress goes to bed. In the moonlight, like James and the giant peach, the mannequin comes to life. It looks at all the carelessness, all the scraps and the person who lies and sleeps deeply, without care.

But now the seamstress is no longer alone in the apartment, in the corner of the room there is now a copy of the sleeping one, watching everything she does.

LOVE AGAIN (2024)
poetry

Love Again is a deeply personal exploration of the emotional aftermath of a breakup, a visual and poetic journey that mirrors the internal landscapes we traverse when faced with loss.

I wanted to create a story that uses nature's elements to reflect the emotions and memories that surface during a heavy breakup—especially when it's with someone you once believed was the one. The suddenness of it all, how life can change in a heartbeat, forces you to grieve not just the relationship, but also the future you envisioned—marriage, building a family, traveling together—dreams that you were so sure would happen, but now never will.
In crafting this film, I sought to convey compassion for the human heart and for all those love stories that don’t have a happy ending. The story I wanted to tell is about the quiet strength it takes to confront that pain, to grieve the moments and milestones that once held so much significance. It’s about understanding that the new happy ending lies in getting to know yourself more deeply, in forgiving yourself for a relationship that didn’t work out.

By the film’s end, the transformation of barren landscapes into vibrant, living scenes symbolizes the healing process. The new love that you find is the realization that you will always have yourself and your heart, wherever you go.
